The ceramicist Theodor Bogler, a journeyman in the ceramics workshop, designed the combination teapot L1 with an off-centre lid for the programmatic Bauhaus exhibition of 1923. The teapot is based on a modular design, which paved the way for the industrial and serial production of this new type of ceramic ware.
